All of this is a VERY long winded way of saying that, in my opinion, these installation “problems” are NOT Joomla problems. They are server configuration problems. You will need to follow these practices regardless of the CMS. I’ve overlooked the same procedures and have painfully learned that a properly configured server makes life much easier.
