If I have the money to invest…

I would put it on IPTV and mobile technology companies. Innovations seem to be on the rise with respect to these areas.

Announcements of Rogers On Demand, Netflix in Canada, Hulu and Google TV add to the notion that watching movies and shows online and on-demand through your high-def TV is the direction we are heading.

Mobile and desktop apps are also popular nowadays. Commercials of Blackberry, iPhones and Android-enabled phones focus more on the installed apps, rather than the features and improvements to the devices. We might as well market them as, “It’s not a phone if it doesn’t have a QWERTY and a camera.”

Interactivity and connectivity are becoming the influencers in our gadget purchasing. We want to be able to access the show’s details, its casts and recommendations from other viewers. Connecting to your social network, such as Facebook and Twitter, and sharing your current activity are deemed normal… at least, amongst geekdom. We’ve bridged the gap between idly staring at the boobtube to being an informed TiVoites.

Well, that’s my take. If you have money to invest into something, what would it be? What’s new and innovative in your profession/industry? Any game-changers?
