On website navigation

One thing I learned from my Plain Language workshop is simplying text on buttons, menus and body copy. This helps your visitors navigate your website with ease and not leaving them guessing where to go to.

When working on your website’s navigational structure, avoid fancy names when possible because they tend to confuse your end-user. For example, renaming the “Contact Us” section to “Reach Out” may not be a big deal to a small website but to multi-layer navigation with a huge amount of content, this can create problems.

Keep it simple.
